Rectification tool

The rectification tool controls the updated rectification table.

Feature Rectification enhancements gives a complete description of all of the improvements to the Rectification Table in PL 9.

Limitations: The Rectification toolbar can be used with the rectification table on the rectification worksheet only.

If you change the Dasha system in the rectification tool it is only changed locally and not globally, which means that only the rectification table is altered. None of the settings in the Options menu or dasha tables on other worksheets are affected.

You can add and remove this tool to the rectification screen as many times as you’d like using the top Tools drop down menu.

To see all of the new docking widgets and read about the functionality of docking widgets in general, go to this feature description: Docking widgets Docking widgets

Rectification enhancements

All the information you need to do a thorough and accurate birth time rectification is now available on one worksheet.

The updated rectification table, combined with the new rectification tool, allows you to see the relationship between multiple divisional charts, multiple dasha systems, and multiple times of birth all in one view. In previous versions of Parashara’s Light, the Rectification Screen could narrow down the dasha combination but was lacking the charts necessary to interpret the dashas. Since dashas are interpreted using their lordships, having access to charts is critical for a comprehensive rectification.

The ascendant for each birth time has been added to the rectification table.

The navamsha ascendant has also been added to the table. In the birth time rectification process, if you know the navamsha rising, you ask what dasha combination is the best match given the life events. If you know the dasha combination, you ask what navamsha rising is the best match given the life events. With the addition of the navamsha rising to the table, the information necessary to meaningfully engage in both of these questions is now readily available. You must zoom in to smaller time scales for the navamsha rising to appear.

The table is also now synced up with the change time tool to easily scroll through potential birth times.

For those who are new to this tool or to the software, the line highlighted in the rectification table is the birth time being considered. As you zoom in and out the dasha levels will be automatically adjusted.

When using the change time tool for birth time rectification, be sure it’s set to the birth chart context. Setting it to the “hourly” timescale is most helpful as you begin the rectification process.

Any content that helps interpret dasha periods is compatible with this screen. Use any and all divisional charts for deeper insight – if the event is related to work, use the dashamsha, if the event is related to parents, use the dawdashamsha, etc. See what ascendants in the divisional charts are the best match for the dasha combination at that time.

Use the 18 hour time range when you have no idea what time a person was born, then slowly zoom in to smaller levels as you get clearer about the rectified birth time.

If you have a large computer monitor, change the grid to a larger size to add more divisional charts to the worksheet. To do this, click on the worksheet title in the upper right corner to pull up the worksheet properties menu. Change the size of the grid in the dimension section and then press OK.

Add a Transits table to see how the dashas were operating in each life event. Add a chart with the Gochara (Transits) context to the worksheet.
Click on the title of the chart and the Event List menu will appear.
Choose from the list of programmed life events and the chart will automatically update the chart to the transits at that moment in time.
You can also add any divisional chart with the Gochara (Transits) context to see how the transits were operating for the life event in any kind of divisional chart.

Add a Shadbala table to the screen to consider the strength of the planets in rectification. The strength of the planets change hour by hour and this can drastically change interpretation. For example, if you know the person was a great writer, which is related to the planets Jupiter and Mercury, you may not want to choose an ascendant where these are weak in shadbala.

Add a Mrityu Bhagu table to see more information around events involving death.

As you scroll through the events list in the rectification tool, the dashas automatically scroll through the table so that you can see the dashas for many life events for one birth time. To add or edit events in the rectification tool list, go to the Edit drop down menu and select Events. The Events data entry form will appear.

Time boundaries can be added to the titles of divisional charts so you can see exactly from when to when the divisional chart is relevant. To add time boundaries, go to the Options top drop down menu and select Display options. In the right column of options, under Vargas Headings, select Name + boundary. Then press OK. The chart should now look like this:
