General notes
You can now store information about your astrology practice as a whole within Parashara’s Light. The new General notes tool provides a place to track upcoming appointments, transits, etc. Notes added to this tool can be viewed from every chart.
How to use the General notes feature:
1. From the Tools top drop down menu, select General Notes.

2. The General Notes widget will dock on the left side of the screen.

3. Click into the white space and a blinking vertical line cursor will appear. Type your notes.

4. Press the Save button at the bottom of the widget when you are done.

Chart notes
The Chart notes tool provides a place to store information within Parashara’s Light about a specific chart or client.
Notes added to this tool can only be viewed from the chart they were added to, they cannot be viewed from any other chart.
How to use the Chart notes feature:
1. From the Tools top drop down menu, select Chart Notes.

2. The Chart Notes widget will dock on the left side of the screen.

3. Click into the white space, and a blinking vertical line cursor will appear. Type your notes.

4. The chart notes are only saved when you close the chart. When you close the chart a pop up window will appear to ask if you want to save before closing the file. Click Yes to save the chart.

Tip: Copy and paste information from the Interpretation hints tool, the Yogas tool, the new reports screens, the Dasha Browser worksheet interpretations window, etc. into the Chart notes tool so the information can be easily found and referenced later.

Worksheet notes
The Worksheets notes tool gives tips for each pre-designed worksheet and learning Parashara’s Light in general. It replaces the yellow Worksheet help bar in PL7.
How to use this feature:
1. From the Tools top drop down menu, select Worksheet notes.

2. The Worksheet notes widget will dock on the left side of the screen.

3. Scroll through the text to learn useful functions and features of the worksheet you’re on. Navigate to other worksheets and the widget will automatically update with recommendations for that worksheet. Unlike the other new ‘notes’ tools, Worksheet notes is not editable and is only meant to be read.
Tip: Want to remember a tip without keeping the Worksheet notes tool open at all times? Copy and paste the text from the Worksheet notes tool into the General notes tool.

Docking widgets
A number of docking widget tools have been added to Parashara’s Light. Some tools are entirely new. Some tools are from previous versions of Parashara’s Light but have been enhanced and/or more coherently synced with worksheets. Because Tools dock on the left side of the screen, they will never cover up charts and tables.
The tools are: 1. General Notes – for notes that pertain to your astrology practice in general. General notes details 2. Chart Notes – for notes about a specific chart. Chart notes details 3. Worksheet notes – replaces the yellow worksheet help bar in previous versions of Parashara’s Light. It shows tips for using the worksheet you’re on. Worksheet notes details 4.
